The new 905 model is the first Powell Sonaré flute to offer a professional mechanism, hand-finished at the Powell factory in Maynard, Massachusetts. This drawn tone hole flute has a Sterling Silver Body and Headjoint, and features an elegant Aurumite 9K crown, lip plate, and barrel. The Nickel Silver mechanism is silver-plated and is offered with French open holes, pointed arms, 10K White Gold springs, and Straubinger Phoenix Pads. Additional options include your choice of B or C footjoint, in-line or offset G keys, C# trill or Split-E (offset models only).

The Powell Sonaré 705 Model is the premiere model of the Sonaré Range. With the most options and upgrade features, the 705 is perfect for the most discerning intermediate flutist. The instrument features a Sterling Silver body and headjoint, with a Nickel Silver, Silver Plated mechanism. With French Pointed Arms, this model is available with Offset or In-line G Keys, B or C foot joints, Split-E mechanism or C# Trill (Offset flutes only). Customize the headjoint with an Aurumite 9K Lip Plate (K Style) or complete Aurumite 9K Tube and Lip Plate (KT Style). This model also features the feel of a professional flute with 10K White Gold Springs.

The Powell Sonaré 505 Model features hand-cut Sterling Silver Signature II Headjoint with a Nickel Silver, Silver Plated Body and Mechanism. This model is distinguished by beautiful French Pointed Arms. French Pointed Arms distribute the pressure from the player’s fingers directly to the center of the key cup, providing a better seal. The Split-E mechanism is available on Offset flutes only. The 505’s Sterling Silver headjoint can be upgraded with an Aurumite 9K Lip plate, known as the K style headjoint.

While the specs don't seem very much different between this flute and Yamaha's current 400 series flutes, the difference in sound is actually rather substantial. The improved body design and upgraded hand-cut headjoint makes for a richer, more easily controlled tone, better intonation, greater volume control and more. You'll be impressed with how much more you can do on this flute than on an intermediate model flute!
